Departmental Strategies

1. Department of Internal Security

  • Strengthen collaboration with police, intelligence, and security agencies.

  • Develop community policing models to improve grassroots trust.

  • Prevent and respond to internal threats, insurgency, and tribal conflicts.

  • Enhance border management in coordination with national defense.

2. Department of Civil Registration & Identity

  • Digitize and secure the national ID and civil registration systems.

  • Ensure all citizens have access to official documentation (birth, marriage, death).

  • Integrate civil registry with national databases for planning and services.

3. Department of Local Government Affairs

  • Support capacity-building for district and regional administrations.

  • Facilitate decentralization and empower local councils.

  • Develop frameworks for service delivery, accountability, and citizen engagement.

  • Monitor performance and compliance of local authorities.

4. Department of Refugee, Displacement & Migration Affairs

  • Coordinate support for refugees, returnees, and internally displaced persons (IDPs).

  • Work with international partners to ensure humane and legal treatment.

5. Department of Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution

  • Mediate and prevent inter-clan or inter-regional conflicts.

  • Engage elders, religious leaders, and civil society in dialogue and reconciliation.

6. Department of Policy, Planning & Coordination

  • Lead strategic planning and policy formulation for internal affairs.

  • Coordinate donor support and international cooperation.

  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on ministry programs and reforms.
